Hybrid/On Site Role: 4 to 5 days on site in the Cambridge area office
Salary: between £50,000 and £60,000 Base + Benefits + Bonus dependent on seniority and background
Overview:
My client, a key player in the Defence industry, is looking to hire an Android Developer to contribute to some incredibly exciting Augmented Reality projects. Your role will enable information from phones to be transferred directly to physical hardware products e.g. helmets.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Android applications. You will be heavily involved in system architecture and design discussions, debug and optimise applications for performance and scalability, develop and maintain unit and integration tests and work closely with multiple Technology and Product teams to deliver best-in-class Defence technology and solutions.
Desired Skills:
· Solid background in Android application design, development and maintenance.
· Solid experience with Java and Kotlin
· Experience with Jetpack Compose and XML layouts
· Experience with background services, storage and lifecycle management
· Any exposure to JavaScript, TypeScript, REST, JSON APIs, TCP and UDP and Android networking highly regarded
· Interest in the Defence industry and associated products highly regarded
· Excellent communication skills, team player and comfortable working with multiple cross-functional Technology and Product teams
