My client, a Fintech organisation delivering an AI driven platform providing help to the Alternative Investments industry, is looking to hire a Director of Data.
The organisation is heavily backed, rapidly growing (currently at approx. 250 staff globally) and is on a fantastic upwards trajectory. This role represents an exceptional opportunity to fully shape the data landscape and strategy for the firm.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work closely with the global CTO to centralise the Data function within the firm, defining and executing a multi-year data strategy, roadmap and target data architecture. You will drive strategic data initiatives associated with Governance, Architecture, Analytics, Machine Learning, AI, Data Engineering, Data Science and more.
In addition, you will build and manage a team of Data specialists (currently 5, looking to increase to 10 in 2026), establish organisation-wide standards for data quality and work very closely with Product and Engineering teams to build an end-to-end data platform and enable data driven product decisions.
Desired Skills:
· Proven background working in Product-led, highly dynamic Tech (SaaS) organisations with a focus on Financial Services (Fintech experience highly regarded)
· Detailed understanding of modern data architecture, cloud data platforms and scalable pipelines
· Proven leadership skills – experience building and leading multi-disciplinary data teams, focused on data engineering, analytics, AI, governance and machine learning functions
· Proven experience of defining data strategy, then implementing centralised, organisation wide end-to-end data processes
· Previous experience of delivering a multi-year data strategy, roadmap and target data architecture
· Experience of implementing data governance, data quality frameworks and operational data processes
· Project Management, stakeholder management and status reporting expertise
· Flexible, collaborative and outcome orientated approach – proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class data driven products for external clients
· Exposure to Alternative Investments/Capital Markets/Financial Data Sets highly regarded
· Experience with building ML enabled SaaS products highly regarded
